What does ‘Acquis’ mean?

A legal term used in the phrase “acquis communautaire” meaning, essentially, “the European Union as it is” – in other words, the rights and obligations that EU countries share.

How much will your services cost?

We don’t aim to be the cheapest provider around but we aim to consistently give our clients good value of money. ACQUIS clients can access free telephone calls and free meetings. Look for our special deal prices. All prices quoted are subject to VAT at the current rate.

We need to budget for our expenses. Can you help us?

In the majority of cases we will agree a fee in advance for the work that we are going to do. We usually agree a fee to cover 12 months at a time. There may be an additional charge if the scope of the work changes significantly. Again, you will be able to decide whether or not to accept our fee, before we start the work.

How do clients pay Acquis?

Having agreed the scope of work and fee between us, we will usually ask you to set up a standing order. Where we are acting as an intermediary and are taking a commission, you will know exactly how much we earn.

Who will look after my work?

Your account will be allocated to a Director of ACQUIS, who will be your usual point of contact.

What response times do you work to?

We do our level best to respond to all enquires and queries within 4 hours within a working day. This may be to tell you when we will have an answer for you but promise to keep you in the picture.

Is your service proactive?

Yes, we aim to keep you informed of changes that will effect you and we keep tabs on the compliance deadlines that you need to adhere to.

What is the added value that you can provide for my business?

We offer our clients a ‘One Stop Shop‘ covering an extensive range of accounting and business services, combined with tax planning and Independent Financial Advice. One office caring for your financial welfare.

What qualifications does Acquis have?

The Director(s) of ACQUIS are Chartered Accountants and members of The Personal Finance Society. The people who work for Acquis will be qualified and experienced at least to the level of the work that they are going to do for you. We would decline any job for which we were unable to provide appropriate expertise or resources.

We consider ourselves to be of particular interest to new and growing businesses. In other words, clients who require professionals to work along side them and be there for the good times and the bad.

How can you help me?

We can help you best when you are completely open with us. By this we mean, keep us in the loop when developing your business or sorting out your own financial affairs. We don’t deal with people who want to keep financial information from us or the taxman.

We are required to comply with anti money laundering regulations, when taking on a new client. This is just like opening a new bank account.

Not every business / person is going to be an appropriate client for Acquis. Where this is the case we will do our best to suggest an alternative provider.
